BPP Advocate of the Year

Open to: Second-Year Students and Above (LLB and non-LLB)

Dates: TBA - Expected Autumn 2025

Application Form: TBA

BPP Advocate of the Year is a mock trial, and is scored differently to traditional moot competitions. Knowledge of the legislation surrounding the legal problems is not a prerequisite. Instead, judges from BPP will be testing trial advocacy skills, including public speaking, clarity of expression, logic and fluidity of arguments, and client interviewing skills.

Universities enter teams of two into the regional rounds. Competitors who are successful in advancing to the final round will be paired with a finallist from another university. All rounds are scored individually. The competition winner is awarded a BPP Scholarship of £5000, with monetary prizes also being available for 2nd and 3rd place.
