Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot

Students compete in teams of two, made up of either undergraduate or postgraduate students. The first round involves submitting heads of argument, based on a hypothetical human rights case. Of the entrants, the top 10 from each UN Region (of which there are 5) are invited to an online preliminary round. 

Of the 50 teams in the preliminary round, 16 attend the final in Geneva. The final round is presided over by international human rights experts. The competition is administered in a mixture of English, French, and Spanish. Knowledge of two or more of these languages is a bonus, but not a requirement.
